The THM monitoring system uses a Colorimetric Optrode.  The optrode is suspended in the headspace above the water sample. THM present in the headspace diffuses through the permeable walls of the optrode and reacts with the colorimetric reagent (modified Fujiwara reagent) contained within the optrode.  The reaction creates colored products that are detected by the optrode. PRESS ME

The wall-mounted system was designed to continuously monitor industrial, municipal and natural waters from up to four sampling ports.  The system is ideal for monitoring the influent and effluent waters of treatment plants, or at points of compliance within a treatment plant.  The software of the system allows the user to set the operating conditions for sampling ports to be selected, sampling frequency and when to calibrate and perform quality control checks (duplicates, matrix spikes).  The system is fully automated with all calibration and quality control checks prepared and analyzed by the system.  The data generated from the monitoring system is saved as either individual sample files, or the sampling results for a time period (week, month) may be collected and stored as Excel files.

The system allows and controls the introduction of the sample using either: 1) direct pressure from the industrial process, 2) peristaltic pump or 3) centrifugal pump.

The system has a process control option that allows the system to activate a relay (i.e. valve) if a user defined THM concentration is exceeded.

The system has a wireless communication option allowing for a deployment of the system within industrial environments without the requirement of a communication cable.

The system can be reconfigured for deployment at remote locations.  The system can be powered by solar cells/wind turbine and wireless communications at remote locations.  This configuration is used when monitoring groundwater or surface water locations.
